Getting Connected: A new guide to utility connections for developers

EVENT:

It seems remarkable that getting an electricity, gas or water supply should be seen as such a problem by property developers and their advisors. Yet it is commonly cited as the single most common cause of delay in construction projects. Delays are not just a problem for property developers but have wider economic impacts.

Although further regulatory change may be needed to improve matters, there is also a need for developers and others to have a better understanding of how the system works, the pitfalls to avoid and better ways of working. To fill this gap, the British Property Federation has worked with Davis Langdon on a guide to utility connections.
