Past event report

What will the future hold for property?

How will it be affected by overseas and private equity investment, what will be the impact of climate change requirements and how will the current financial climate influence occupiers' demands?

Our speakers included Sir Michael Peat, principal private secretary to HRH the Prince of Wales; Sir David Walker, former Chairman of Morgan Stanley International; John Griffith-Jones, Senior Chairman of KPMG; and Joe Azrack, President and CEO of Citi Property Investors.

Event write up

We received tremendous support from members for this year’s well attended conference, with delegates enjoying a lively lunchtime speech from Alastair Campbell, and an afternoon of thought-provoking debate from a programme of esteemed speakers.

Minister for Housing and Planning Caroline Flint MP closed the conference with a shorter speech than expected, as she had to dash to get back to the Commons for the vote on 42 days detention for terror suspects, but she invited Richard McCarthy from the Department for Communities and Local Government to finish off the speech at the post conference reception.

You may also have noticed that this year's conference was accompanied by a series of high profile plugs on the UK's most influential business TV channels.

Liz Peace managed to do two full length interviews with Bloomberg:

where she discussed private equity and the future of REITs, after joining CNBC

to talk about the future of renting.

Andrew Teacher also dropped into Sky News
