Planning Committee
The Planning Committee is a sub-committee reporting to the Regeneration & Development Committee. Its principal purpose is to support the R&D Committee on all technical planning and development issues.

- seeking amendment to the Localism Bill
- work on the creation of plans for business neighbourhoods
- input into the formulation of the National Planning Policy Framework and the presumption in favour of sustainable development
- work on the future of strategic planning
- putting forward propoasal for cutting red tape in planning
- providing views on the implementation of the Community Infrastructure Levy
- resisting damaging changes to the planning system like third party rights of appeal
