There are several ways that member companies can get more involved in our activities and lobbying work.
Expand the following boxes to find out more.
Every Friday afternoon we send an email to contacts in our member companies and organisations packed full of news and information about what the government is planning and doing, and what we're doing about it.
Expand this box to find out how to sign up yourself or your colleagues.
We would like as many people as possible (within reason!) in our member companies to get our email. To sign up, all you need to do is click on the link below and let us have the following details for the people to be added to our list:
It would also be useful to have job titles and telephone numbers too, but these are not essential.

Please note, this newsletter is only available to BPF members. If you email requesting to be added to our distribution list and you are not a member, you will not be added.
Issues networks allow us to provide more detailed and regular information to people in member companies who are particularly interested in the issue. They also allow us to guage the level of interest in topics that we feel could have a network before we set one up.

Existing networks
Joining an existing network will give you access to current more detailed information, the opportunity for greater involvement in government consultations and invitations to any meetings, workshops or seminars we hold on the issue.
Our existing networks are:
1 planning and regeneration – influencing the government’s planning and localism agendas
2 sustainability – influencing the climate change agenda
3 EU financial regulations - things like the AIFMD and EMIR that impact on property investment
4 VAT issues
5 communications and marketing issues – building the image of the industry and best practice on business development
Potential networks
We have also identified issues where we believe there are things we could be doing, provided there is sufficient interest from our members. How these networks develop will depend on the level of interest.
Our potential networks are:
6 fund management – particularly the associated tax issues
7 financial reporting – issues covering accounting standards
8 SDLT issues
9 non-REIT tax issues
10 student accommodation issues
11 Islamic finance

NOTE: only people at our member companies are allowed to join an issues network. If your company isn't a member, you'll need to get it to join first.
A lot of our policy work is overseen by our committees. There are not enough seats on our committees to meet demand for spaces, so we have set up a committee associates scheme for all of our committees.
Expand this box to discover what's involved.
Committee associates receive all the agendas, minutes, papers and other items that committee members receive, they just don't come to the meetings. However, if you have a view or point to make on an issue being discussed at the next meeting, simply send it to the committee's secretary. Your point will be made at the meeting and you'll get a note back of any response. You might even be invited to attend the meeting to put your point across.
