What we do

Residential

Not just representing commercial property interests

We have a significant number of members involved in residential property from large investors to smaller scale residential landlords.

Through our affiliations with local and regional landlord associations across the country, we also represent more than 8,500 small landlords operating in the residential sector.

We campaign on a broad range of issues affecting residential landlords.

We believe the increased profile of the private rented sector is largely due to a campaign we have been running highlighting the importance of the sector to housing need, with nearly one million new households finding a home in the private rented sector in the past nine years.

We articulate the challenges professional landlords face, for example, dealing with the regulations touching the sector and anti-social tenants. Equally, the frustrations, most recently with the introduction of the local housing allowance (LHA), and new planning restictions on houses of multiple occupation. We are plugged into the work of other stakeholders working in the sector, on issues such as the energy efficiency of private rented property and planning issues in London.
