Reimagining Primary Care

Primary care is fundamental to the NHS; as the organisation puts it, it is the ‘front door’ to the healthcare system. Primary care – which covers places from GP surgeries to health centres, clinics, and pharmacies – cater to a local community’s healthcare needs and is vital to our country’s public health.

The past few years have shown just how vital it is to have an effective primary care system, to reduce the burden on secondary and tertiary care. It is clear that the traditional model of primary care is rapidly evolving, driven by technological advancements, changing patient needs, and the lessons learned from the recent global health crises.

Estates and buildings are essential to the UK's primary care system. As the representative body of the healthcare real estate sector, the BPF is planning to host a webinar to explore innovations in primary care, and how collaboration between the private sector and public healthcare system can ensure our primary care system is fit for the future.

We will be joined by Simon Corben, Director and Head of Profession at NHS Estates and Facilities, to provide an NHS perspective.
