What we do
Planning policy statements
Planning policy statements (PPS) are the detailed drivers for 25 specific policy areas that planning covers. These range from the broad brush PPS 1, Delivering Sustainable Communities, to more focused issues such as Planning for Town Centres (PPS 6) or Housing (PPS 3).
The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) is currently in the process of updating all 25 policy areas covered by the current planning policy guidance notes in to a new punchier PPS format. At present, nine PPS have been completed, with the remaining 16 scheduled for revision in the near future.
We will be making representations on each of the documents as they come up for consultation.
