What we do
Residential investment
We are keen to encourage a conducive environment for investment in residential property. In recent years, we have led a successful campaign to allow Self Invested Personal Pensions (SIPPs) to invest in residential property through a collective vehicle.
Several barriers remain, however, to greater institutional investment in residential property. For example, we would like to see the reform of stamp duty so that large investors are not taxed on the aggregate amount of deals, which disadvantages them compared with individual investors. We would also like to see the REIT regime opened up to AIM-listed and private companies.
