What we do
Parliament
The UK Parliament is the gateway for legislation affecting the property industry. Engagement with Parliament provides an opportunity for us to educate and inform politicians about the importance of the commercial property industry as a delivery agent for the Government's social and economic objectives.
We actively engage Parliament by:
- educating and informing politicians about the industry's social and economic role, especially in the key areas of regeneration, delivering sustainable communities, environmental efficiency and property as an asset class;
- influencing and, where necessary, seeking to amend legislation affecting the industry's ability to deliver in these areas;
- providing technical expertise to MPs and Peers through oral and written briefings on complex legislation impacting the industry; and
- raising the image and profile of the property industry amongst Parliamentarians as a respected and very necessary part of everyday life.
