Sustainability, climate change and environmental impacts are increasingly coming to the fore of the political agenda. They are particularly important to the property industry.

The development and operation of buildings have a significant impact on the environment. Buildings consume natural resources, such as water and building materials, they generate waste and produce pollution - directly through onsite fuel use and indirectly through electricity consumption and transportation.

Fortunately, cost-effective opportunities exist to reduce this environmental footprint. What's more, many property companies are finding sustainability to be a strategic advantage in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
