Property Investor decision-making is changing. What criteria is the 2019 property investor using in order to decide what to invest in and where to invest?
Traditionally, Real Estate investment has been measured purely in terms of commercial returns. This position appears to be shifting with Investors increasingly looking at social outcomes as part of their agenda and decision-making process. Social responsibility is more than altruism and a feelgood factor for employees; it is key to reputational management in an era of transparency and social media. But does it deliver better returns at the end of the day? Is it win-win for investors and their stakeholders? And, for the local community? Is there a new investment model, what is it and how does this work? What are the guidelines? Also, what sectors are most attractive? Is London still the right place to invest or is investment being diverted to the UK Regions?

Chris Grigg heads up British Land - a major PLC investor developer, majoring in commercial schemes in London and retail property across the UK. Chris Taylor, leads Hermes - an ‘institutional investor’ with a reputation for strong governance and a commitment to delivering holistic returns. Helen Gordon is at the helm of Grainger - a major investor in BTR, with a direct interface with people and communities and an evolving legislative agenda. Finally, Madeline McDougall heads up commercial real estate lending at Lloyds – it will be interesting to hear how and on what basis the bank is advancing loans and if the criteria changing.
